Bell Ringing

Bell Ringing

At St Mary's Church in Kippax we have a ring of 6 Bells in the tower. Originally there were 3 bells installed in 1627 and in 1946 the original bells were recast with a further 3 bells added to commemorate the fallen during WW11.

We have a small and enthusiastic band of ringers who ring regularly on a Sunday morning;at weddings and any special occasion with our practise night on a Wednesday from 7-00pm to 8-00pm. You do not have to be a church member to enjoy the art of ringing and anyone can join us.

At St. Mary's Church in Swillington we have a ring of 8 bells, the 3 original bells are hung 'dead' one of these is struck on the hour by our tower clock.

Our bells are rung regularly before our Sunday morning service, also for occasional special services and if requested at weddings. We are always looking for new  people to join our team of ringers, and especially welcome anyone who is wishing to learn the art of ringing.

Our ringers practise on Monday evenings starting at 7.30pm. For further information please contact Mr. Tim Cox on 0113 286831 or tcox1@talktalk.net

There are no bells at Allerton Bywater
