COVID -19 and Church Opening

Our tentative opening for public worship (see below).

As we make these first steps I am very mindful of the many people who will not be entering our buildings to worship but will be at home. I hope you still feel cared and provided for. We will continue our Daily Offices and Sunday worship (with minor modifications) and as we deliberate on the future of our worship it is clear that there is a desire to continue live streaming and using technology to spread our worshipping life beyond the walls of our beautiful buildings.

Church opening for private prayer and worship

It has been wonderful to see so many people coming for a quiet time of prayer and especially good to see the whole community joining us. Please do think carefully about the risk to yourself and remember to keep to the 2m social distancing, sanitise your hands on entering and leaving and not to linger socialising - however tempting! We are beginning short services of daily prayer at each of the times of private prayer. These will initially be for 15 minutes with the words on the screen or a sheet for you to use and take away. Each service will be live-streamed to Facebook for people that cannot make it in person. Either myself or the Revd Gordon Cooper will try and come along for some of every session. This is the very cautious beginnings of us returning to worship in our buildings and I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who is working hard to make this safe.

Kippax, Tuesday 9.30am – 11.30am with Morning Prayer at 9.30am.
